DEPARTMENT of EDUCATION & TRAINING POLICY ON SCHOOL CAMPS

Before camp commences, approvals must be obtained from;

  1. The Principal
  2. The Parents/Guardians (of all the students)

Please ensure you have a sound understanding of the Department of Education & Training's (DET) current 'Excursion' and 'Water-Based' Excursion Policies. Both can be accessed via the following web site.

Note: The Camp School Manager has current qualifications in:

  • Bronze Medallion
  • Surf Rescue 
  • Senior First Aid

Camp School Education Assistants possess current Surf Rescue and Senior First Aid qualifications

All other GCS staff possess current Senior First Aid qualifications and Working with Children checks

All camp excursion documents (class lists, receipts etc) must be retained for further information and audit purposes.
